Kiln-dried Elm has been dried in an oven-like kiln. With kiln-drying, you can control the environment such as temperature, humidity, and steam levels, allowing you to dry wood to the desired moisture content faster than air-drying. Elm is durable and tough, but softer and more shock absorbent than other hardwoods. The interlocking grains add to its toughness and resists splitting. The grain patterns tend to spiral and swill giving it a bold look. Elm can be used in many ways such as butcher blocks, decorative paneling and furniture for seating.
