With kiln-drying, you can control the environment such as temperature, humidity, and steam levels, allowing you to dry wood to the desired moisture content faster than air-drying. Oak woods are strong heavy hardwoods, known for durability. The colors can vary from light beige to brown. The heartwood of red oak can have pink and reddish hues. White oaks tend to be more dense than red oak which can be somewhat lighter with more open and porous grains. All types of oak are great for woodworking from cabinetry to flooring and furniture.
